What to include and how the process works, from enquiry to keys.
How to apply
Every property on Roost has an Enquire button. To apply well:
1. Complete your renter profile
A complete profile means one-click applying. Landlords see:
- Employment status and employer
- Annual income (optional but helps)
- A short cover letter — your chance to stand out
2. Write a good enquiry
Landlords receive dozens of messages. The best ones are:
- Specific: mention why this property, and your move-in date
- Honest: about who is moving in, pets, references
- Polite and short: 4-6 sentences
3. What happens next
- Sent → the landlord received it
- Viewed → they've read it
- Shortlisted → you're being considered
- Accepted / Declined → decision made

Response times
Roost landlords must respond within 48 hours. If you don't hear back, tell us and we'll follow up.
